Pregnancy and Yoga Workshop with Michelle Castillo
Michelle will go through contraindications of yoga poses while pregnant to accommodate the physical and physiological changes during gestation. Many traditional yoga poses are easily modified with props and blankets. However, certain poses should be avoided for the safety of the mother and fetus. Highly recommended for yoga teachers interested to learn how to incorporate these modifications in their regular classes and for mums-to-be interested to learn how to modify their practice for personal safety.

Yoga Anatomy and Physiology Workshop with Katie Sheridan
We give you a basic understanding of how your body is built when entering into a physical yoga practice, not only to increase your awareness of what's happening in your practice, but also as a means to avoid injury and undue strain. Highly recommended for those interested to go deeper into their physical practice and gain more knowledge as to how their physical body functions on an anatomical level.

Conducted every three months at Hom Yoga, our Hot Yoga Alignment Workshops aim to create a strong foundation of awareness on proper alignment without fatiguing your body. Come and join us for a fun, interactive workshop designed to get you floating and balancing on your hands! We aim to take away the mystery of mastering the vinyasa and inversions, making them accessible and above all safe.
We’ll discuss the basics of good alignment and technique plus the fundamentals of learning how to shift your body-weight to set up the foundation for safe, solid vinyasas. We’ll teach you how to use props, such as blocks and the wall, to help break these poses down in more accessible ways, and we’ll focus on exercises to build up the necessary strength and stamina, giving you the courage and confidence to start integrating these poses into your regular practice.
Some of the poses and their preparatory elements that we aim to cover are: Jump back - Jump through - Chaturanga Dandasana - Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (upward-facing dog) - Adho Mukha Svanasana (downward-facing dog) - Sirsasana (headstand) - Adho Mukha Vrksasana (handstand)
This workshop is appropriate for all levels.
